This book annoys me. Why? Because it has romance. NOW HOLD ON! I'm not saying this book should be completely free of hints of romance, but the romance that occurs should 100% take more than a single book because the way it is now makes no sense. Either Faith is psychotic for falling for who she does after all that has happened or she's lying to herself about the intensity of her feelings. I am told it was a lot slower in the Wattpad edition, so I have a bad feeling this is publishing company interference to make things speed up. Which I have to say is a horrible call because it greatly pulled down what could have been an enjoyable slow burn enemies to lovers romance.

Does that mean I hated the book or refuse to read on? No on both fronts. I cross my fingers incredibly hard that the author backtracks and tries to slow things down because of how things ended, because it definitely offers that chance. I also in general did enjoy the world and characters. I just cross my fingers sooooo hard that the book doesn't commit too hard to the romance direction when the romance as it is now is very worrisome and red-flag-filled.

Also, the writing did come across as juvenile and young in multiple instances, but, well... This is young adult. 15 year old me would have eaten up this writing. It was quirky and fun. The juvenile wasn't eye rolling like other works I've seen like that. Well, in most instances. There were times I did roll my eyes, but still. Young adult me would have devoured this book because of its quirky writing style.

Will be reading on, like I said. But here's hoping it doesn't continue down the worrisome path it's set before itself.
