Loved

I have been waiting for this book since Jack was introduced in Ashton Scott, I’m talking about when it was sent out weekly. I love Jack and Jessica! Such a great read!

I did enjoy this, but I struggled to stay interested in the story. It was quite predictable and uneventful. It was great to see Jessica help Jack overcome his addictions and help him see his full potential, but I was expecting more from them as a couple after meeting them both in Ashton's book. 3☆

Lotta people in my family with bipolar and comorbid substance use disorders. So, I was happy to see this representation. Obviously, this book, he's already been inpatient, has started meds, is working on being more stable. He is also having to look back and see that some of his decisions were really not good.

The girlfriend is rightly anxious about restarting a relationship. In addition to his mental health concerns, he comes with the baggage that being famous brings.

I liked that she was able to express her emotions and that he was learning to listen and give her space.

I was initially hesitant to read this book but I did enjoy it.

I like Jessica as a fMC. Her interactions with Ashton were one of my favorites in both the first book and this.

Jack is also a mMC I enjoyed getting to know. I found his personality much more bearable than Ashton. His character also has much more depth due to the demons he faces.

One thing I like about Nina’s writing is how real her characters are. The females aren’t another Mary Sue, nor are they some mind numbing Pollyanna. They’re strong women with real flaws. Jessica is stubborn as all get out but she’s obviously smart. She wants to hate Jack but she couldn’t stop loving him. I find that to be very human. I’m not looking for perfect female leads. I’m looking for ones who feel real. Nina does such a great job with this in general.

Now, on to Beckett!

Looking for a Feisty Heroine with a lot of personality? What about a hero the Heroine is tasked with keeping out of trouble? Jessica Calvary has that impossible task and she will never make it easy for him. Jack Kingsley is dealing with his own demons. This book has everything you could possibly want in a story. Pain, real people with real flaws, and second chances. This story will break you and put you back together. It was apparently just what this gal needed. I'm going to have to order the paperback to put on my shelf and I only put special books there. Grab your copy today and you won't be disappointed.
