This book was so nice and happy and feel good for like 80% and the last 20% just ripped my heart out. I died of laughter and also sobbed so hard. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is the miscommunication trope. It was fine and then it just kept going and was driving me crazy but also in the best way. IT HURTS

oh my god this was awful. i loved it but this was complete torture.. that last 10% had me holding my breath and trying to die. book 9 better be the last installment i genuinely don't know how much more of this i can take. also most zodiac academy books are long af but this is the first time i really felt the length it felt like there was way too much filler in this one. i love the characters and even enjoyed getting chapters from characters i hate bc this whole world is really fun but it just seemed to drag things out unnecessarily.

"Wow, that was dramatic."

Picking up immediately after the events of Zodiac Academy: Fated Throne, we have pain and trauma and fire and this review isn't going to be very professional because I'm getting tears on my keyboard okay let's GO.

I feel like this is really three books smashed into one, I can definitely see the parts where the sisters were trying to wrap up certain aspects of plot with the intent for eight to be the final part in the story - but I also can't be mad at them for breezing over certain aspects? I don't even know if anyone else noticed this, but as I read I realized that there's not been a single scene I've missed reading. Sometimes I'll pick up a book and it will mention something happening off-page and I'll get a gut-reaction of sadness that the author didn't gift it to me - I never feel that about these books.

I get every single scene I want, I get more than that, and while that might make some people mad with how utterly huge they are; I love it. I feel satisfied, if not emotionally wrung out like a sponge letting my tears drizzle on some sad plant. Because for every time this book made me break down into sobs (it did, a lot) it also made me laugh so hard that my stomach cramped, and laugh so hard that more tears fell.

I don't know what they put in these books to make me love them this much, but I'm glad they did. I love these characters fiercely. I love this series fiercely. I don't need it to be written like War and Peace, I just want to wrap myself in the world and the characters that feel like people to me.

And yeah, that's a quote from my mother-FREAKING husband at the top who appeared like a radiant sunbeam in the night to set my heart aflame once again. MINDY 4 EVA BITCHES.

Content warnings: all of them, idfk. I cried. (just kidding, there's war, death, violence, gore, and sexual assault)

Absolutely love this series and all the emotions I feel while reading it. The multiple points of view provide a wide understanding of the story, character development and dynamic of this series. This book had many happy moments, but in the true fashion of the authors it also had some heartbreak. Looking forward to reading the next book of the series. However, I feel that more time needs to be spent editing these books.

Heartless Sky was such a great book from the very beginning. Once you get to Heartless Sky, you've already read the first six books I'm hoping and you know how these books give you so much happiness and love only to rip your heart from your chest later on.

Heartless Sky follows the Vega twins and Heirs as they decided to stand against the false king, hoping to end him once and for all. The book also gives you a look into what everyone's lives would have been if the false king hadn't done so many awful things to everyone from the very beginning all in the name for power and evilness. The false king wants nothing more than to rule Solaria with an iron fist and have everyone bend to his every whim, but there is a rebellion growing bigger and bigger everyday unwilling to bend the knee for anyone other than the rightful Queens. Every single fae in this book ends up going through a ton of character growth, knowing they have to face and fight if they want to save Solaria and every fae in the kingdom especially their loved ones.  I really enjoyed seeing Tory and Darcy learning more about their order form and training together with someone who knew how to make them ready for the war, but will it be enough? So many people suffer pain and loss in this book that I couldn't do anything other than cry for my favorite characters. By book 7, you've come to love each and every character and what they offer to this amazing story and series. I do believe that the stars love seeing the Vega twins and heirs suffering. This book along with the 6 before it have done nothing but give me emotional whiplash and yet I can't stop myself from continuing forward in my journey to see this series to the very end. If you can't handle emotional distress or trauma, I don't advise you to read this book because you would probably be scarred for the rest of your life. 🤣

Now while I'm still in shock with how Heartless Sky ended, I can't help but think that the authors did a play on words with this title by using the word Heartless. I mean come on, I'm beginning to wonder if these twisted sisters are Heartless or if they just get giddy AF while writing these stories laughin with one another while saying, "We have to give our readers hope every so many chapters to keep them reading, but we will still continue to rip that hope right out of their hearts just before they get comfortable and believe that they will get a HEA!!" Don't worry ladies I have you both figured out. In case either of the authors were wondering, yes you destroyed me with this ending. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to pick up book 8, but because I'm a glutton for punishment, I'm always setting myself up for pain and suffering. 🤣🤣

Heartless Sky is dark academia paranormal fantasy filled with all different types of fae and magic both elemental and order magic. The attention to detail of each character, each order and their powers are **chef's kiss** perfection. You can't help but feel like you've been fully immersed within the city of Solaria and Zodiac Academy. The characters will piss you off to no end, you'll be ready to scream and throw your kindle but just as quickly be so in love and feel like you're apart of the family of fae. I literally give this whole series 5 stars thus far. It's going to be one of my all time favorite series ever!!!
