As someone who doesn't read romance very often, Kinsella seemed to me to be a big name and someone with lots of writing experience, so I thought her books might be worth a try. Didn't like it. The pacing was weird and some of the plotlines/characters were a bit annoying (like Lev and the resolution of Sasha's work situation, and, dare I say it, Terry and the insane impact he seemed to have). I did like some of the humour and silliness though, like the mad cast of characters at the hotel and the farce of them all coming into the Finn's room when he and Sasha were in bed . The 3rd act breakup and the phone call that sparked it were ridiculous, and not in a fun or comical way .

ARC Review
3.5/5 ⭐
A heartwarming story of a burnt out marketing professional who runs away to a rediscover herself at a rundown beachside resort where she meets a fellow burnt out buddy also looking to rediscover himself. They eventually fall for each other and the rest is history. While a cute story and endearing and chuckle worthy at points, it was pretty predictable and dragged on a little bit too much in some points. All together an easy read and a B-list romcom if that's what you're into.

3.5 stars. Uplifting and hopeful, I enjoyed this story following a woman who’s burned out at work, and takes time off to visit a childhood vacation spot to recuperate and think more intentionally about her future. Though the romantic plot felt a bit lackluster, the sub-plot celebrating her old surf instructor was sweet and heartwarming.

Loveable and funny rom-com with a twist that it's also about recovery from burnout and hustle culture which makes this super wholesome. Only thing letting it down is the whole "break up because of a lack of communication" vibe which just feels like a tired cliche.
Some laugh-out-loud funny parts but about 3/4 of the way through those petered out and I was ready for the book to be over. Cute overall
