Anthony Bourdain’s writing is lively and transports you right to a seat at the table. I can hear his voice speaking to me as I read. Excellent.

Anthony Bourdain’s writing is epic. So many other things in the world to taste and to see.

man i miss anthony bourdain :(
there truly was (and is) no one doing it like him -- sharp, cynical, but always in awe of the world and its beauties, funny as hell, endearingly self deprecating, and a fantastic writer to boot. forever sad that he is gone.

Feeling trapped from quarantine I find this book a delightful way to create a voyage in my mind. I miss traveling and I miss eating a variety of foods. This book created the escapism I needed. RIP Bourdain

I picked up this book because I kept seeing the Henry Kissinger quote. I miss Anthony Bourdain. His joy and excitement (and dread!) on the page is approachable and real and raw.

Interesting. I wish I could have gone on every one of Bourdain's travels in this book.
His cynicism comes through. It makes him endearingly authentic but can be a bit depressing too.
I especially liked his descriptions of Vietnam and Scotland.

“When is food magic? What are the common denominators? Certainly, when food is the result of a brilliant and obsessive personal vision, it can take on mystical, magical aspects.”
