I really think that people should check this book out. The essays are beautiful and thought provoking and ultimately important. That being said, I did think the book missed out on the chance to share this conversation with or even simply nod to the disability community and the activism. Not naming and discussing disability in conversations about pandemics seems like a significant oversight. Nonetheless, I think it is a valuable work. Just make sure that when reading this work you don't allow the author's oversight to become your own.

This was just a case of not really being what I thought it was going to be. I thought I was getting a collection of science essays, but they're actually more personal essays. Just not what I was wanting right now, and also way too close to COVID for me to even consider something that features it so heavily.
