A slow, quiet meditation on human/other-than-human connection, the mysteries of other-than-human Nature, and the strange and often heartbreaking ways our bodies sometimes seem to be working against our own best interests.

There, I did it, I just bumped it up from a 4 to a 4.5 a month after reading it, because this little book and Bailey's story still make me smile when I think of it.
I wasn't sure about this book, but right from the start, the story of the snail was mesmerizing. The detail and description Bailey wrote with was strong and compelling. I was also drawn to how she related to the snail and how it helped keep her together in difficult times. I got a lot from this story even though it was not focused in detail on her challenges until a bit later.
It was a short, quick, engrossing read, I will be sharing with other for a long while.
