A beautiful reflection on the value of life, even in times of stillness and suffering, and a testament to the power of intensely focus on the smallest parts of our natural world. The book is as unexpected as the gift of a wild snail, and yet turns out to be a delight.

Just a beautiful glimpse into the connection of living beings ...no matter their differences, working their way through the world and the time they have in it.

There, I did it, I just bumped it up from a 4 to a 4.5 a month after reading it, because this little book and Bailey's story still make me smile when I think of it.

I wasn't sure about this book, but right from the start, the story of the snail was mesmerizing. The detail and description Bailey wrote with was strong and compelling. I was also drawn to how she related to the snail and how it helped keep her together in difficult times. I got a lot from this story even though it was not focused in detail on her challenges until a bit later.

It was a short, quick, engrossing read, I will be sharing with other for a long while.
