Great book. Loved it.

Kate compares Andrea and Raphael's romance as a Mexican soap opera; disappointingly, she's all too accurate. Not much of the nuance of Kate and Curran's relationship, or the careful revelation of back story to make their difficulties truly interesting.

Read #2: Upgraded to 5 stars. Andrea is so awesome and has gone through so much. It is great to see her in her own story that was just as exciting as any book in the main series!

I didn't know I would like both Andrea and Raphael so much :) Would have liked to see more of the happy parts ;)

Not QUITE as brilliant as the rest of the Kate Daniels books, but pretty damn close. (Like 3.5/5 stars. Would read again, definitely.) The acknowledgements say they had trouble with this story, and it shows in a few small areas. But! I still recommend this to ANYONE who has enjoyed the Kate Daniels world. It was very enjoyable.

Ah poor Anubis. I only say that because I'm a witch with him as one of my Patron Deities lol.
For whatever reason this took me a while to read. I just kept getting bored. The story was completely interesting and I loved the progression, but at the same time it didn't necessarily hook me except in a few moments. Still, I'm happy I reread this.

This book from Andrea’s s perspective me think for the first time about the “warrior” form of the shapeshifters. I can’t stop picturing the anamorphs covers now.

Speaking of covers. I love how these covers keep on getting worse and worse. I love it so much because the books are great and the covers are truely terrible. It makes me love it more.
