A short! little prequel to Patient Zero. It does tell the tale of how Joe Ledger got on Mr Church's radar.

This was an interesting introduction to the series. Fast-paced and action-filled.

Slam Bam Thank You Mam. This is a uber-short, uber-intense novella. Because I haven’t started Patient Zero, it left me a little befuddled. Joe Ledger, Baltimore cop and ex-Army Ranger, is in on a terrorist sting operation. Holy heavy fire and possible zombie in a box had by head spinning. Then fast forward and jump continents, unknown Doctor Evil has some bad mojo planned for London. *clears throat* Me. Confused. How are they connected? Are they connected? Are zombies connected with terrorist? The good thing is I trust Jonathan Maberry. My guess is that he did such a good job laying out Patient Zero, there wasn’t much to divulge in its prequel.

Will Joe Ledger be my next John McClane or better?

I like the in between stories to get new short stories or background or whatever the case may be. I didn't like this one, because all but the last scene was pretty much told word for word in the 1st book. So it seemed like a pointless story.
