Almost gave it 3 because the actual ending was SO incredibly anticlimactic. Pacing also off through whole book. Way too much happened "off screen" as it were. Still, I overall enjoyed it and the series as a whole was great fun.

Yay! This series ended on a high note! The final battles with Napoleon were great, and the rights won for dragons along the way were fantastic.
I absolutely love Temeraire and Laurence. If I miss nothing else, I’ll miss them. I wish I could see Temeraire in Parliament!

Overall, very enjoyable series!

It took me forever to finish this book. But even so, I loved this series and was sad to say goodbye. While the writing can feel a bit dense and Novik has a tendency to cut away from action scenes, instead recapping the aftermath, I still think League of Dragons and the whole Temeraire series is beautifully written. The style feels old fashion, befitting the period setting. In that way, it becomes an immersive reading experience.

The only reason I give a lower rating is because, at the time I read this, I was in a reading slump and struggled to dig into the book. Yet regardless of the struggle, this series has become one of my most favorite. There's so much rich world-building and dynamic characters! This series is definitely an underrated gem!

A satisfying conclusion to the wonderful saga of Temeraire! I love this series so much, and while I could happily have read twenty more books of dragon adventures, eventually all good things must come to an end. While this book itself may not have been the most dynamic instalment, it certainly wrapped up many loose ends and completed the arcs that these beloved characters had started from the beginning. I’m always a sucker for Novik’s characterization of Temeraire and Iskierka and the rest of the dragons, and Laurence’s endearingly upright honour played a major part in the plot, for better or often for worse. It’s always bittersweet finishing a long series, but I look forward to comfort rereading whenever I need it!
