Too many instances of the words dumb, stupid, and butt for me to recommend this book. I will not be giving it to my son.

I skipped a few books in the series when I read this one, and I don't recommend that. I would definitely read these in order. There's plenty of humor and action in each volume, and I totally get why the kids love them.

A brief shining moment of sudden superpowers and a pep talk under truly epic circumstances slightly spoiled by the biggest cliffhanger this series has had so far. Thank goodness my library has the next in the series!

This book focuses on a very brief snapshot in time, as the crew decides what to do about Wolf going crazy under the villain's influence. Snake's moment of emotional vulnerability near the end is meaningful, but this seems like fifteen minutes of a feature film, not like a satisfying series installment.

SpoilerSnake appears to die. He dies off-screen, so an adult reader will correctly assume that he's coming back, but this could be distressing to young, sensitive readers.
