What. A. Drag. The ending was terribly disappointing. The writing was okay but way too descriptive at times. Pacing was so terribly slow that it was a struggle to get through.

A classic, spooky, gothic ghost story. Very enjoyable.

The atmosphere throughout the book is perfect. Just dark and foreboding. Anxious.

I really like that The Woman In Black, although terrifying and certainly malevolent- is in some sense relatable. As Arthur mentions in the book, her actions are unforgivable... but due to her tragic life you almost sympathize with her. Understand her.

The story is just interesting and creepy and  I enjoyed piecing together the tragedy of The Woman In Black alongside Arthur Kipps and Spider the dog.

And for those of you concerned;
Spider the dog doesn't die! Thankfully!

One of the creepiest ghost stories I've ever read.
