I may not finish it. Book Thief was one of my favorites but I’ve been struggling for months to get through this. I’m like 2/3 of the way through and I need a break from digging through pages of solid metaphors 🤷🏼‍♀️ the story isn’t interesting and it feels like work trying to read it. I feel like I’m too far gone to really change my mind if I pick it up again but maybe I just need space from it?

Took way to long for me to be interested in the narrative. I know nothing of horse racing, bridges, or Australia so I had to do so much research to cherish the details being woven into this story.
