cute summer read! this is the first time that I’ve read a book by Megan Quinn, and I would say that I liked her style of writing. It was easy to read. The book definitely made me giggle here and there I would say that the characters specifically the FMC is relatable. The setting is a summer marriage camp and I think the author did a good job at setting the scenery I was really able to imagine what this camp looked like.

I would say the book was pretty fast, paced toward the beginning and they definitely have a lot of banter they go back-and-forth and the MMC definitely has a sense of humor. I would say they innocently bicker a lot. Towards the middle of the book, it just felt like all they were doing was bickering, and I got a little bit bored. It just felt like it was just banter and not a lot of development on the FMC’s part.

at about 60% I kinda had to push myself to keep reading and it didn’t disappoint. It was pretty good. The female main character has some issues from her past marriage that she brings into the relationship with Wilder and I think he does a great job of helping her through those. I just didn’t like that she would compare him so much to her ex husband Matt, even in the situation where they were being intimate. I just felt like it wasn’t necessary. He was brought up so many times LMAO I understand her past trauma came from that marriage, but at times it felt a little excessive.

I loved the mailman character. I don’t know how I feel though about him being more on the email side lol it’s usually not my type of MMC that I steer towards. It was kind of hard to imagine him wearing a beanie the whole time I feel that part was a little cringe, especially being in the hot summer climate at a summer camp. But he definitely had a good story and I liked that the included his upbringing and why he is the way he is. He really is a good brother to mika.

it was a cute summer camp romance. The only reason why I gave it 4/5 stars it’s because I feel that the ex-husband was mentioned too much and she compared him to Wilder too much. And she was blocking a blessing that was right in front of her. I also liked that Wilder healed a part of her that she didn’t know was broken in so many ways I love that he continued to go to therapy to understand her better and that he asked what she needed from him after every date, so he knew to be better for her. I love that he worked so hard to show her that she was deserving of his love and I think that is a very real part of this novel that really pulled me in towards the end I did like the ending, and it did make me giggle in the beginning because of their banter and because of their therapist who was an extremely odd character, but funny nonetheless, lol. and meghan quinn is very good at describing smut scenes whewww. i do think that it got to be a lil much every page was smut after their first time, and then it really got emotional. Overall cute summer romance!
