There is simply no one, that writes epic fantasy like Robin Hobb. Reading one of her books is to disappear into a world so real, characters so full and well imagined that when you stop reading and look up, you’re alarmed to discover you’re sitting at home. I never want this series to end.

I enjoyed the book, although not much happened, and it's probably my least favorite in the series. However, Fitz as the protagonist remains a brilliant narrator. His constant mistakes and efforts to rectify them keep the story engaging. I'm particularly intrigued by the storyline involving Dutiful and eagerly anticipate its development. Hopefully, the final book in this trilogy will surpass my expectations. For now, though, I still prefer the Farseer trilogy.

Robin Hobb continues to impress, making even  slower-paced chapters a genuine pleasure to read. She excels at writing flawed individuals who feel larger than a character on a page.
