This is the whump lover's ideal robin hobb book. Fitz's homophobic homosexual arc is sooooo tasty. I love watching that man twist himself into knots before eating humble pie. Chade is only getting nuttier and I'm Here For It. Poor Beloved. I cannot wait to see what cruelty awaits him in the next book.

Absolutely love. Probably my favorite book of the series so far.

4.5 stars. This series keeps overdelivering! An excellent installment on its own, this book is also a major convergence of Farseer & Liveship plots and it’s SO SATISFYING! Worlds collide! Characters meet! Absolutely epic and it’s only the 7th of 16 books in this universe. I can’t listen quickly or slowly enough, I want to stay here forever.

You know what I feel for you. You have known it for years. Let us not, you and I, alone here, pretend that you don’t. You know I love you. I always have. I always will.

just kill me, robin hobb. what else is there to do? like just pull the trigger. i won’t even say it can’t get worse than this because i know you, now. i know it will. everytime patience was mentioned i instantly started crying. you’re so cruel for showing so little of her to me, why can’t you just let a mother reunite with her baby!! 🫩 well, jokes aside… i really, really enjoyed this. i looove seeing fitz’ dynamics with every other character. fitzloved is the best thing to ever happen to this world. this is probably my favorite rote book so far.

I such a good time with this one!

While Golden Fool doesn’t have a lot of plot going on, I was honestly more invested than when I was reading Fool’s Errand. I love everything surrounding the betrothal  with the Outislander princess and the relations with the Old Blood. The politics in this were immaculate.

I also love the character work. The relationship between Fitz and Dutiful makes me so emotional. I also loved Kettricken in this so much. Her growth over the years makes me feel so proud it’s like I birthed her myself. Every time she and Fitz have a conversation I tear up. Chade got on my nerves a little and so did Fitz with his stupid ass quarrel with the Fool. But also all the Bingtown people omg I loved seeing those characters again!! My babies Selden and Jek.

This was just so good, especially for a second book that contains mostly buildup for the third book. But honestly it never felt like that to me. I could not put this down.
