I point at Fitz and run away screaming gay gaYYYYY GAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I know this is not the direction the story is probably going to go, but Fitz and the Fool are just soulmates and it's beautiful.

As the second book in The Tawny Man trilogy, The Golden Fool is the perfect transitional book to set up was promises to be a spectacular conclusion in Fool’s Errand. For a book of over 600 pages, I have to admit that very little happens plot-wise, and some scenes were quite long and slow.
While these are symptoms of the middle book syndrome, that's not the feeling I got. We get so much character growth and learn so much about the world, magic, and the Elderling that it's hard to say this book is inferior to the first. It was very fascinating, and in the end the lack of plot didn't really bother me.
There's something about Hobb's writing that pulls us into the story and makes us feel like we're actually in this amazing world alongside the characters. I felt it even more in this one, and it was perfect to feel the tension slowly building up to an ending that pushes us to pick up the third book straight away!

the book where fitz (starts) learning what empathy is, then catastrophically loses the plot bc homophobic, and then tries to be normal again. for a book where not much happens i was glued to the pages.
