The book is only good because the characters are so well developed and loveable. Almost nothing happens plot wise in this book.

Book 18 Golden Fool 5/5
I saw before reading that this is one of those books where not much happens. I did not find that to be true for me. It was full of so many plot points and interactions. Sadly the true exciting part is put off until the next book but I still overall loved it.

Some existing relationships are strengthened while others are built. And we also get some overlap with the ships trilogy. The politics felt realistic for the world and I am excited to continue the next book shortly. James Langton does a fantastic job with the audio, making this one trilogy of the series worth listening to on audio.

The second book in the Tawny Man trilogy serves as a wonderful bridge to take us from the first to the last entries, and as a meeting point between all of the previous events in the series that sets us up for plenty more mysteries to be discovered and solved.

There's a lot of growth here for Fitz that was sorely needed. We see him confront himself and his past in ways that make his character even more interesting and have more depth than before.

Beyond his own growth, his dynamics with several characters reach a sort-of tipping point, in ways both vocalised and kept quiet, that will surely have an effect on the story as time goes on.

Overall, excited to see how this trilogy ends and how brings closure to the many heavy themes this one is tackling.

Hey not bad but not nearly as good as the previous.
Love the characters and their interactions but very little plot seemed to happen honestly
Hoping for a strong end to the trilogy
