Francesca has a secret, and Chandler is determined to figure out what it is. Thrust together as they seek to solve the mystery of the massacre of Mont Claire, attraction soon turns to love. But what happens when the truth of Francesca's identity comes out?

If you like dark, sexy romantic suspense, this book is for you. It's an emotional page-turner.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The Devil in Her Bed is the third and last book in The Devil You Know Series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but I feel like reading them in order is necessary in order to understand all the twists. Pippa Hargrave survived the horrible night of the Mont Claire massacre when her family and friends were murdered. She thought everyone else had died and she wanted revenge against the murderers. She takes up the identity of her dead friend Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire, and plans her revenge. Declan Chandler was a master at disguises and was called the Devil of Dorset. He works for the unofficial Secret Service and his mission was to shut down the Crimson Council and their threat to the Crown. I really enjoyed the series, but I like the first two books more. The characters were all wonderful but Chandler was hard for me to like. He was known as a great spy but never caught the hints Francesca gave him. The book was fast-paced and full of mystery. The twists and turns kept my attention and the ending was surprising.
I received an ARC and am willingly leaving a review. All thoughts and opionions are my own.

3,5 rounded up to 4.
That never happened to me I think but I really liked the story of The Devil in Her Bed, however, I wasn't fond of any of the characters which I'm really sad about.
Still, I was invested enough to want to know what was going to happen.

TW for lost of loved one.
Also, like every KB book I read, the beginning is really dark and intense. I know it's never easy for me to read.

Oh, what a stunning finale! The Crimson Council, the secretive occult society is crushed and the last of The Red Rogues finds her perfect match.

He's known as the Devil of Dorset, but unknown as a gentleman of many disguises. Chandler works for the Crown and Francesca Cavendish is a woman he knows is a fraud. After all, he's a master of deception, and it takes one to know one. He's determined to discover why she's pretending to be the Countess of Mont Claire, only his interest in this woman goes beyond his investigation.

Francesca is a resourceful woman and wants to finally solve the mystery of who ordered the massacre which killed all the people she loved. As the sole survivor, she's getting close to finding the perpetrator. With her reputation in tatters, will she succeed in finding closure?

I've enjoyed the previous novels in this intriguing series, but this one is exceptional. Lies and deceit are uncovered, as the strength of friendship is enforced as Francesca comes face to face with Chandler. However, all is not at it seems because both are masquerading as aliases...who have met before on more than one occasion.

The heroine and Red Rogues are familiar characters and each complement the others with their skills and intelligence. Surprisingly, Cecilia and Alexandra men; Redmayne and Ramsay, play an active part in helping to bring down the Crimson Council and sending the man responsible for the massacre to the gallows. Therefore it's no surprise, Ms Kerrigan's writing kept my attention the whole duration of the book. The well thought out narrative, along with added humour make this a novel and series I'll want to read again.

I enjoyed the majority of this book, even though the hero could be a bit of a hypocritical, whiny shit. I haven’t read the first two books in the series (yet), but that didn’t lessen the story, the relationships, or my enjoyment. I loved the very strong heroine with the interesting background and skill set.

Possible slight spoiler ahead.

A hang up: the hero’s problem with the heroine’s “deceit”. He was so mean about her identity even though he was a spy with multiple identities. And even though he finally came clean about that and she hadn’t yet told him her secret (though she tried multiple times, he was the cause of her not following through each time), he was the Biggest Baby and refused to listen to anything else she had to say. Like seriously, she should have told him to piss off... at least for awhile. And when he finally came around, she was the one who apologized and explained, when he should have been on the floor groveling.

*** Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review***

This is the final book in the Devil you know series by Kerrigan Byrne, and we finally get Francesca’s story!

Francesca Cavendish has a tragic past. As a girl, she witnesses everyone she loves being massacred and her home burn. She decides to take over her best friend’s identity to seek revenge on those responsible.

Years later we meet the Devil of Dorset who has been investigating Francesca and the Red Rogues. He is inexplicably drawn to Francesca but cannot believe she is who she claims. He is determined to find out her secrets even if he has to seduce them out of her.

This book has a slow start for me. I loved the prologue about Francescas childhood and tragedy, but the introduction to the hero and his staking didn’t really work for me. However Kerrigan Byrne is a genius and she sucked me in and I could not put this book down.

I love Francesca, how strong she is, how she won’t let a man dictate to her and will do what she wants, and I love how absolutely capable she is. Though Chandler isn’t my favourite of her heros, my heart absolutely broke for him and all he’s survived.

The villain of this story was intriguing but kind of fell of at the end in an unsatisfying way.

Overall I really liked this book. It was gripping, heart melting, sexy and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Y'all, Byrne can write a prologue like no other. Just makes you want to consume to the whole entire book, Without going to into spoilers, this book follows the last Red Rogue and her mission for revenge. The main hero in this is very dark and broken but Byrne just makes it work so good. I just REALLY wanted a long epilogue at the end.
Trigger Warnings: murder, gun shots, fire, mention of human trafficking, torture,
Spoilermention of a character getting eaten by dogs
, emotional and verbal abuse, child neglect, and drowning
