What an end to my favorite duology (sorry six of crows/crooked kingdom)!!
I swear only Rebecca Ross can have me crying at 4 in the morning while reading the ending.
This story will probably be a yearly reread for me and I can’t wait to read such beautiful writing!
I hope everyone gives a chance to Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows and fall in love with these characters and their stories like I have and forever will.❤️

i really liked this as well but the first book was definitely better. i don't know exactly why but i feel let down. i like that there was more presence of the gods in this book and of their world, but the loss of roman + iris moments really hurts. i LOVED their journey in book 1, and despite the circumstances, i thought we would get more angst maybe? idk. but their ending i do love. also a surprising turnaround in my opinion of forest.

There were many things this book could have been and it was a confused amalgamation of an entire trilogy into a winding and somewhat aimless 300 pages. Like, the first book could have been an email because this whole thing went in a completely different direction, from a love story to every trope you have ever heard of except it's in world war 1 for kids. I found it a really slow read, and thank you to the person I read it with for helping me get through. The first book was a good romance, a nice and pleasant chocolate chip cookie, soothing and comforting. This was a pizza that attacked by 3 year old with too many condiments. I can eat it but there's so much going on I hardly know what to taste. Glad girlbosses are still out there doing their thing, but this was a case where the romance had much more depth than the world.
