WOW I HAVE NO WORDS! I honestly have no idea what to say THAT ENDING
THE REBEL QUEEN IS KIVAā€™S MUM!!! SHES A HEALER AND SHES GOING FOR THE CROWN MY DUDES! Jaren has no idea what heā€™s in for damn. Also Tip is alive thank god šŸ™ Naari is one of my favourite characters she better survive the next two books
Iā€™m a student nurse and had a great time reading Kivaā€™s perspective of caring for her patients
I did call the poison quite early though šŸ˜‚
this book is a really great read and I highly recommend, canā€™t wait to read the second book! Make sure to check trigger warnings if thatā€™s something you look at before reading - Iā€™ve listed them as best I can  :)

This one snuck up on me - in the end I realized what a good time I had. A lot darker than anticipated in some spots.

This book was a little bit of let down. I feel sufficiently confused by the events that take place in this part of the story. But I am also intrigued enough to read the next installment. Kiva definitely got poop end of the stick in life and family. Left for an unreasonable amount of time, she becomes the prison healer. Takes insane amounts of crap from the filth of several countries. An impulsive and rash royal invites himself to prison as a way of getting information and intelligence gathering on a notorious rebel that happens to also be royal. We are up to three. Kiva takes the do no harm way to far and volunteers to take the place of her patient in trials. Basically give me liberty or give me death.

I didnā€™t expect that ending?!

This book surprised me in a good way. I really like the worldbuilding and Kiva as the main character is interesting, to say the least.

Tipp is the cutest character ever šŸ«¶ and for the most part, I really liked the found family

Seriously, I canā€™t stop thinking about that ending. It blew my mind even though I guessed most of it. Amazing. The narrator is everything here.

Iā€™m pretty sure I dreamed of this book today

Mother is dead.
Iā€™m on my way to Vallenia.
Itā€™s time to reclaim our kingdom.

What is that ending!! I am speechless. I got goosebumps. For all the books Iā€™ve read, that cliffhanger was probably one of the top ten unexpected plot twist!!
she is the princess and the daughter of the rebel Tilda!!!
