This is an incredible novel that is fiction, but based on an actual midwife and events she wrote about in her diary.

Absolutely loved this,  though you should check content warnings.

I really enjoyed this story.  It was interesting and I enjoyed the mystery, but my favorite part was the depiction of a mature marriage.  Martha Ballard is 54, and her husband and her have a beautiful marriage.  I don't read too many stories that show people still in love and in a full partnership after 35 years.
