An okay thriller set primarily in the greater London area.

Tash, a freelance journalist, enrolls her 2-year-old in day care. Although her husband is a doctor, the couple struggles financially.

Through the daycare, Tash meets a group of three wealthy women, who welcome her into their clique.
Tash doesn't truly feel comfortable with them, but she's grateful for the company and is happy to have women to confide in--even if being with her new friends means accruing credit card debt.

Meanwhile, in hopes of writing a story that will earn her a good fee, Tash is looking into the death of a nanny whose body was found near a local reservoir. As Tash researches the case, she begins to uncover holes in the police inquiries and turns up new evidence.

The closer Tash gets to the truth about the nanny, the more secrets she uncovers about her new friends and the more she risks her own safety. How far will Tash go to pursue her story?

I liked the book well enough up to the very ending.
While I could see why Tash eventually sided with her friends, I don't really buy the sex with another man while her husband is in the same house. That was a twist too far for me.
The story was entertaining, even if I had my suspicions about the how the plot lines were going to come together.

The audiobook was read by Louis Brealey and Dakota Blue Richards. I liked both their performances in terms of expression, delivery, and characterizations.

I liked this and I genuinely wanted to pick it back up whenever I put it down. I didn’t love the ending but I liked the writing and the plot generally.
