3.5✨ this had me by the neck OOF wow! first & foremost props to Faulkner for such engaging writing. I think this is one of the first times I ever read a thriller and genuinely had no idea who was at fault. I wished there was a bit more juice at the end though since it started so strong but thee fell a bit flat at the end. I enjoyed the different characters and the way their stories wove together…I still have a handful of unanswered questions about Christina though like girl what? Don’t even know how to get into unpacking that. All to say I enjoyed this one! So much better than thrillers from others I’ve read with more buzz and attention. I’m looking forward to more from Faulkner!

I would like to express my gratitude to Bloomsbury and NetGalley for generously providing me with an ARC copy of 'The Other Mothers' by Katherine Faulkner.
The novel is a thrilling murder mystery that follows Tash, a freelance journalist, as she investigates the death of Sophie, a young woman who used to work as a nanny for one of the mothers at the nursery where Tash's son goes.
The story takes place in a nursery where there is a group of mothers, including Laura and Claire, who seem to have it all - perfect lives, endless play dates, posh coffees, lavish brunches, and great friendships. Tash, who longs to be part of this group, is envious of their seemingly perfect lives.
As Tash delves deeper into the investigation, she realizes that the group of mothers is not as perfect as it seems. The story alternates between Tash and Sophie's perspectives, giving us insight into their worlds and the secrets that they hold.
The author, Katherine Faulkner, has done an excellent job of creating a gripping and suspenseful tale that is hard to put down. Her writing is detailed and descriptive, making it easy to visualize the different scenes and characters.
Overall, 'The Other Mothers' is a fantastic read that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Had hope for the plot. Tried too hard to have an unexpected ending. Story was too long and got boring. Almost all the characters were insufferable.
