I read all of this in a single 3 hour session. I fell in love with the first Beetle book and have since spent the past few years excitedly waiting for the sequel, and it did NOT disappoint. It builds off the themes and developments of the first book so concretely and intelligently and OMG EVERY SINGLE PAGE IS A FEAST THIS ART IS SO PRETTTYYYYYYYYYYYY

It’s rare for a sequel to be as good as the first, but this book was fantastic! The art is stunning, the writing is incredible, my son and I are BIG fans and ripped through this book. My son loves Beetle, Kat, Penny, and Gran and the expanding world and story. Kat’s family really sucks and that’s hard for my sensitive kid, but Gran and everyone else counteracts their awfulness and it’s beautiful to see both Beetle and Kat’s confidence and self assurance grow. The Beetle books are such fun stories with so much heart. Can’t wait for the next one!
