Such a try hard book, exhausting to read and not enough of a plot to be engaging

3.5 if we want to be accurate.
I really liked the first book so obviously my expectations were going to be high for this one.
Well... I say high when in reality all I wanted was a Libby villain arc, a cute romance between Gideon and Nico, and (hopefully this isn't asking for too much) to know what the fuck is going on?
So when we got barely a chapter of Libby returning from being lost in time, half a page of Nideon (?? whats their ship name im not that enmeshed in the fandom) and a plot line that was thrown out the window (I'm not even kidding, its been like 350 pages and nothing NOTHING happened) of course it would be safe to say I was disappointed. And would also explain why it took over a month to finish this book when the first one took more no more than 2 weeks.

Nevertheless, the book still got my 3.5 stars because it was fantastically written. I will continue tote reverenced by the beautiful words of Olivie Blake. The characters are so uniquely their own people and very three dimensional. From this point of view, you can understand why the plot might be weaker but for me personally I enjoy the substance of a plot.

I will read the third book when it comes out only because my hopes are still not diminished for the redemption of this series. It only started to get really good when it was close to ending so perhaps the third book will continue its wave.

I liked this book but it took me FOREVER to finish. This series continues the trend of being more vibes than plot - which is fine by me. I’m intrigued to see how the series concludes.

Does anything happen in this book?
I like the beginning, and I got hooked on wether Libby finds her way back. But the rest? All their research, for what? Nothing really happens and no one does really anything major

It took me a while to read this because I found so many good books that I was eating up so I kept putting this aside. It felt like nothing really happened in this book but it was still somewhat enjoyable to read. Definitely less pretentious with the writing style than the first book. Interested to see how will all this end.
