Livro pequeno, fácil de ler, e que nos prende do início ao fim. É Ken Follet, não desilude.

A surprisingly short novel for Follett and as a result it lacks some of the depth of those in his epic tomes. But do you know what? It was still a good read.

I'm sure if Follett wrote this story now, he would write it differently. And though it's not as deep and meaningful as he once might have wanted it to be, it's still highly entertaining and a great page-turner, despite being a little raw.

I found this book at a hostel library in Athens. It was the only book in English, so I figured that it was worth a read. I liked this book, it was fun to read and the ending was satisfying. It did have a few flaws, for example I didn't appreciate how literally every time a male character saw a woman (the secretary, some lady walking down the street) he had to go on and on about how much he wanted to sleep with her... The book was fizzy and lighthearted and a lot of the art/business aspect went over my head as someone who is unfamiliar with the works of Modigliani and the art world but still I enjoyed it.

It was alright, just enough to keep me entertained.
But in the end it just doesn't feel all that great when you have finished it.
A student finds out about a lost masterpiece painting. There is a chase set up by multiple people to get the painting.
And there is a side story about an actress who want to do something better with her life but will she?
To be fair the whole story of Samantha the actress could be left out and it wouldn't hurt the book

Published in 1996... a little intrigue... nowhere close to the Eye of the Needle.. quick, interesting read.
