This book is 5% mystery, 70% insulting Lula, talking to the dog, and cheating on her boyfriend, and the rest I just don't even know. The real mystery is how someone agreed to publish 30 of these.
This was the perfect example of tell, not show in writing. Especially that stupid line that Ranger kept repeating, "babe"--only half of the time was there a description of what the connotation was behind the word, and in my head I only ever read it in a monotonous way. You'd have to have one hell of an imagination to think this is a good book because it's almost like one of those stories where you fill in the blanks, given that there's no real emotion behind anything.

I did not realize this is actually the 30th book in a series, however, I really enjoyed this and did not think it was hard to follow given I didn’t know anything about the other parts of the series. I will definitely check out a few more of these stories.

This long-running series has had a much better showing. I have been reading this series since the late 90s. It's a fun, frivolous romp. However, I was bored with it and only read it for nostalgia. This book showed progress, and that was great! Finally, there was movement forward.
