So, I think four stars is my standard rating for any anthology, if I'm being honest. I've yet to read any one where I equally loved every story, and for me that is fine, because some people may love stories that I did not.
I did notice some typos and grammatical errors.
Despite this, there were enough stories I liked that I was happy to read the collection.
Some standout stories I enjoyed were:
Communio by Daren Callow
Abducted by Astrid Adams
The Blagham Lake Ceremonies by Tim Jeffreys
The Pioneer by P.J. Blakey-Novis
Even in Darkness, We See Them by Megan Neumann

A thrilling variety of extraterrestrial tales
A is for Aliens (A to Z of Horror Book 1) is an extremely well put together collection of terrifying tales about creatures from beyond the stars.
No tale tread the same ground. From rural murders to alien abduction to Mark Anthony Smith's Canadian woodland horror and P.J. Blakey-Novis futurists intergalactic war, there is something in this collection for everyone.
With ambitious plans to release 26 collections in the series, A for Aliens is a tremendous first entry and I'm looking forward for more from Red Cape Publishing and its team of talented authors.

“A is for Aliens” is the first of a truly ambitious series of anthologies from Red Cape Publishing. Running through the alphabet, each one will have a set theme, from aliens to beasts, to cannibals to demons. I’m intrigued to see what X and Z are going to be.
I love the idea of horror venturing into sci-fi territory – especially in film. “Alien” and “The Thing” are probably right up there in my Top 10, along with the astoundingly good short film “Zygote” by Neill Blomkamp and Oats Studios. Shamefully, I have to admit that I haven’t really read much in the genre. Most of my horror tends to deal with other kinds of monsters / human killers, but “A is for Aliens” gave me the perfect opportunity to remedy that.
As with their previous anthologies, Red Cape Publishing bring together a cast of indie authors who, while you may never have heard of them before, definitely bring their A game.
Each author has taken the brief and made it their own, and each story is superbly well-written.
As with any anthology, there were some I liked more than others, but they all work fantastically well as part of a collection. You’ve got creepy stuff, gory stuff, and WTF stuff. There’s definitely something for everyone.
Some personal highlights for me were: “Even in Darkness, We See Them” by Megan Neumann, “The Pioneer” by P.J. Blakey-Novis, “The Blue World” by Jeremy Megargee, “The Hazing” by Theresa Jacobs, and “Minor Constellations” by Dona Fox.
