Este a sido el último libro que leo en 2016 y me ha encantado, fascinado y enamorado. Adoro a elisabeth/adelaide y a cedric, adoro esta historia y estoy deseando leer la segunda parte, por mi parte 100% recomendado

Dissappointing and boring all the way through, I just kept waiting for something but this book is full of descriptions of dresses and not much else.
I wanted a badass book, I wanted a heroine I could like, and yet, Adelaide whom I thought was actually called Eloise therefore I never got the jokes when she said the name Lizzie, Beth, and Liz followed her around, well I hated her, she lacked substance, she was flat and dumb and in every way an airheaded girl of nobility, this book would have been fascinating from Mira's point of view or even Tamsin, but all we got was Adelaide running from an arranged marriagr into a competition to get an arranged marriage. Does it sound like Adelaide was smart?? Noooo but everyone and herself felt the need to remark how smart she was. And how pretty, did I say everyone thought she was a fucking special snowflake of perfection inside and out?

I hated this book. Not for me, not for anyone over 15, and if you are under fifteen you would have to like your characters one-sided and very egocentric.

I read this book as a "free choice" book for one of my English classes back in 2017 and I fell in love with it. It’s a good fantasy read, where Lady Elizabeth Witmore, Countess of Rothford, takes her future into her own hands by disguising herself as Adelaide. She’s trained at the Glittering Court where she will later become a well presented woman who can pick her own husband, as long as he has the money to pay for her training.

This seems similar to the Selection (from what I’ve heard, although I have never read the Selection series myself) and I really enjoyed the concept of the story. It was entertaining to see Adelaide learn some tasks as she had always had servants doing things for her. But she managed and excelled, and even made friendships along the way—which was a new experience for her.

Adelaide and Cedric’s relationship was not rushed but rather developed slowly the more time they spent together. They started off as a little less than friends, both with their own secrets and goals. The longer they worked together the more twists there were to make things slightly difficult for their relationship to flourish without consequences.

The pace of the story was not too bad but there were a few jumps here and there, such as the time Adelaide spent at the Glittering Court seemed to be short. The characters were well developed and each had their own unique personalities to set them aside from one another but they also had interests to keep them connected. Richelle Mead did an amazing job with detail, I felt like I was on the journey over land and sea with the characters and enjoyed the painted picture.

DNF at 25%. No character depth and the plot wasn’t original at all. Pretty disappointed

(Extraño a Rose, extraño a Adrian, a Lissa, a Dimitri.)

This was an entire trilogy watered down and shoved into a single book. I wanted more time with these characters, in these plot lines, in these situations! Nothing was left to simmer or settle before we were flying by months of stuff to get to the next plot point. I was left with more questions than answers and the answers I did get were lukewarm at best. Very disappointing and I definitely won’t be picking up other books in the series.

This book had a different plot and setting so it was somewhat unique. I'll probably continue this series BC I'm curious as to what will happen to the characters

This was absolutely nothing like I thought it would be. I really enjoyed the different twists and turns in this book. The storyline was a little crazy, but enjoyable.

DNF.

definitely preferred this book over the vampire academy !
