I just didn’t really get the point of this book? I mean yeah, it’s about a woman who refuses to continue living her life as society expects from her, but other than that it was just too much and missed the point in my opinion

had to finish in one day it was a fucking wild ride. lots of uncomfortable subjects and in general a rough read i was not expecting.
i did love the writing did a good job at explaining mental health and disorders etc.
still confused need to read some articles to help my brain out

I found it beautifully disturbing. A lot of difficult topics covered in ways I didn't expect.
Not my kind of book but can still appreciate how well it's written.

"She thrust her glittering golden breasts over the veranda railing. Her legs were covered with scattered orange petals, and she spread them wide as though she wanted to make love to the wind. He heard the sounds of the approaching ambulance siren, of screams, sighs, the yells of children, all the commotion of the alleyway down below. The sound of feet hurrying up the stairs, coming closer."

An interesting read with some really beautiful moments that peters out in the end due to insufficient character development and the attempted use of reveals to shock the reader away from other problems in the book. A fun read for the suspense and imaginative plot, but not my favorite.
