Probably would have liked better if read physically. The male narrator for the audio book kept fucking WHISPERING and it made it so hard to keep track of what happened during his chapters. His volume kept going up and down which made it IMPOSSIBLE to follow anything about the plot.

This felt like the cheesiest Hallmark movie you could ever watch! I definitely think it could’ve been a bit longer in areas because some things needed more explaining and other places it felt too rushed, but overall, it was very cute! It made me excited for Christmas time on the Hallmark channel!

It was fast and enjoyable. It seemed like there was supposed to be a whole lot more regarding the council and maybe there will be in other books but some of it seemed kind of swept under the rug and just an afterthought. I enjoyed it though.

3.75 This was such a cute read. Reminded me of Erin Sterling's Ex Hex series. I think Avery Flynn is becoming one of my favorite authors. She just writes such fun rom-coms.

I wish I had dnf’d, even if it would have just been the last 23%. The story is all over the place, there is zero resolution to any of the conflicts introduced throughout, and we are told-not shown-any “growth” that the characters have. Like there are no actual consequences to anything that happens/that the main characters decide to do??? Also the smutty scenes were SO cringe and honestly the very opposite of hot.
I’m frustrated (more so at myself for not just quitting) that I spent time reading this, but at least it’s over.

5/21/24 update: I was going through my SG stats to make sure I've added all the books from my tracker, and this book kept showing up as "no date" even after fiddling around with the journal entries. I ended up having to remove the book and then re-add it, resulting in losing all of snarky "live" entries I wrote as I was reading it which is annoying. This didn't impact my review, but I just wanted to make a note for myself because I thought they were some pretty good annotations.
