3.5 Stars. This was a fun absurdist romp with a couple of deeply human, touching moments that crawled out of the woodwork to surprise me. I found the narrative disjointed till I realized we were in two different time periods, and even then the story seemed somewhat incoherent. Too, the vampire storyline was kind of a red herring, although a Vampiric Vince Vaughn totally tracks.

Full Review coming. Another bizarro masterpiece by Laura Lee Bahr. Read it all at 10,000 feet between San Diego and Indiana. Awesome-sauce.

"I had a chance to be a Vampire, a real Vampire. Instead, I got saved by Jesus, just like a million other losers."

Kooky, funny, wild, fun, extremely bizarre. I dug it, more than this rating might indicate; I remain forever annoyed that Goodreads still doesn't have a half-star rating system. Once again, took way longer to finish than has anything to do with the book itself; my reading rhythm this year remains weirdly, inexplicably shot to shit, and it's really starting to get on my nerves.
