I went into this book genuinely having no idea what it would be about. I was not expecting it to be absolutely bonkers.

Arthur Dent is having a bad day. His house is going to be demolished, and Earth is going to be destroyed. He meets his enigmatic friend, Ford, in a pub and ends up catching a ride into space with him.

I enjoyed the way that the book was written, with little witticisms and quips throughout that made me laugh.

However, the plot was just nonsense, and I couldn’t connect with it at all. The ending was flat and led on to the later books in the series, which I probably won’t ever read.
