I didn’t *love* love this one by any means but I did find it entertaining and I’m glad I finally got around to reading it after it sat on my shelf so long. It’s zany and all over the place with some good dry British humor but somehow it works, in part because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. I think it’s a good palette cleanser as something quick and funny in between heavier reads, and could see it being the perfect thing to get a sci fi fan out of a reading slump because it’s just that ridiculous and fun.
Wow, I don't know what to say about this absurd little tale. The first half has almost no plot. It's really just the author enjoying writing nonsense. Once the four main characters come together, the story picks up. I did enjoy the story. Also, the tale started fairly sardonically but got lighter as the book pushed on.
Still don't know how to rate it, star-wise. Weird stuff.
A warning for fellow Christians: There is some irreverence toward Christ at the beginning and sprinkled in elsewhere. I nearly didn't continue with it and still wonder if I shouldn't have. I recommend you just skip this one.

Forty two stars. :)
This book, even after reading it three times, still surprises me with it's humour and thought. I'm not sure what else to say really except that if you want know the question of life the universe and everything or simply want to know why having a towel makes it easier to hitch a ride then this is the book for you.
Reread 2022
Fourth time is a charm. Hitchhikers remains hilarious, though not as profound as I once pretended it was. No, hitchhikers is a pure and simple fun time and therefore I will love it forever, for all it's little ridiculous moments.
Reread 2024
It's the height of exam season for me, I'm counting down the hours til my physics exam and I need to stop stressing. So where do I turn? This book, always, always this book. I open it with trepidation because it's been a while, maybe it'll be bad now, like some books are when you return to them older. But it's not. It's better. Somehow, with my increased knowledge of quantum physics and relativity, it makes more sense. Unlike so many books of my teenage years which I loved, I still can love this book, and find new little quirks of humour and makes connections I didn't when I first read it. This book remains a 42 star read.

It is always scary to go against the masses, but I truly didn’t like this book. I remember watching the movie when I was younger and not really getting it, so I thought I should read it as an adult, and it turns out I did get it, I just didn’t like it! I know it's a classic beloved by a ton of people, but the humor just didn’t work for me at all.

זה בלבול של מילים אני מרגישה שזה ג'יבריש. יש מצב שהייתי צריכה לקרוא את זה צעירה יותר ואז זה היה מהנה או מצחיק
