Elsie Silver will forever be the reason for my love of small towns and cowboy romances. Since I first read this back in July of last year, I have reread it three times and each time I do, I fall more in love with Willa and Cade. Willa is a firecracker and I love how she speaks her mind and is so unfiltered. Then you have Cade, the grumpy single dad that is closed off and sometimes doesn’t even know how to communicate with those around him. However, this man right here is undeniably the most thoughtful and caring person. Their relationship had me kicking my feet, laughing, and smiling so damn much from the very first time they met to the last page. And their banter? It was fun. It was witty. It was everything I love and more. Also the spice in this book? When the slow burn turns into full burn, good lord 🥵🫠 Some of my favorite all time spice moments are from this book and with good reason.

If you are looking for a cowboy romance, please do yourself a favor and read Heartless, then proceed to read the rest of the Chestnut Springs series.

Quotes💕:
“Are you insane? You think I went three years without laying my hand on a single person to break my streak with one as exceptional as you and then let you just walk away?”

“I knew you had big dick energy, but this is something else.”

“How do I look?” I quirk a brow and arch my back. “Like you’re mine,” he growls.

“She’s a spark in the dark. Dancing flames against a midnight sky.”

This follows Cade and Willa. Cade is a single father who runs a ranch and looks after his 5-year-old boy Luke. Cade needs help while he works and needs to hire a nanny but everyone isn’t good enough. Until a redhead firecracker shows up in town and takes him by surprise.

This book was such a feel-good funny, fantastic second book in the Chestnut Spring series! The age gap is 13 years. I love Willa as an FMC. She is hands down probably a top FMC of all time for me. I love her personality, how she can challenge the grump and also the way she talks to his son is beautiful. Daddy Cade is honestly a big grumpy bear but a little bit of a softie. I loved his grumpy energy and what he would do for his family. Luke is just a beautiful kid and was a joy to read about.

Overall fantastic book but I think the birthday scene is overhyped and the money I would pay to see Willa say thank you Daddy Cade after his services, I would have screamed as she had no problem casually saying it.
Brilliant book, and storyline and love the characters.

Rhett Eaton is still my favourite! But Daddy Cade is a close second. Excited for the next book!

OH. MY. GOD. If the first book was five stars, this one has got to be one million stars.

I DEVOURED this book. Howwwww am I supposed to wait several weeks between the re-release of the last three books?! HOW?! I need them now.

I fell in love with each character, and Luke simply melted my heart. I did not predict that little plot twist, but it made me so fucking happy. And bless Elsie Silver for not throwing in a third act breakup.

This was utter perfection, simple as that.

Surprisingly I like Cade and Willa better than I liked Rhett and Summer! They're chemistry and banter kept me on my toes the whole book. Throw in Luke and you make an almost perfect grumpy sunshine single dad romance. My one complaint is the same as the first book, any conflict is due to miscommunication. In this book its more due to one of them talking over the other and then storming out. The cuteness bumped it up .25 stars!
