I liked this better than FLAWLESS. I loved Cade and Willa, but I'm not the biggest fan of Elsie Silver's writing. One minute Cade and Willa would be sharing a sweet moment and then he would be talking about how aroused he was. I rolled my eyes a lot. And I didn't like how possessive Cade was. I did love the banter in the texts between Willa and Cade and Willa's relationship with Luke. And I think I'm invested now to the point where I'll continue the series. But, if I'm honest, I still don't get the hype.

Favourite quote: "The hair on the back of my neck stands on end as I drop my head toward her. Everything around us fades away. I don't know how she has this knack for telling me the things I crave. Tracing my insecurities the way she does. Soothing the hurt she doesn't even know exists."

🌶️ 3 spice 🌶️

“You don’t like me. You tolerate me.”
“The way I see it, I like you a little more everyday”

Ah this was so good. My heart is melting from the cuteness. I’m giggling like a school girl from that ending.

We have Willa a city girl turned nanny and Cade a grumpy single dad. I mean what could possible happen with that combo…did I mention there’s an age gap 👀

I am obsessed with these two. I am obsessed with these two AND little Luke. This little family was so adorable and there was so many sweet moments and funny moments where you just couldn’t help but smile.

Now that I have talked about the sweet moments…let’s talk about the spice because my god!! One spicy scene was like 3 chapters and I was down for all of it.

Remaining in my country boy era forever.

Check TWs and CWs

Happy reading 🤍

I'm not normally a fan of the single-parent trope, but holy hell Cade has changed that for me. In this second instalment of the Chestnut Springs books, we get a deeper glimpse into a grumpy single father (and older brother of Rhett) as he raises Luke with the help of his family. He thinks he's got it all figured out, that is until Willa Grant walks into his life. After a somewhat meet-cute; where Willa accidentally drops her underwear in a crowded café, Cade picks them up not realizing he just pocketed his new nanny's intimates.

I love the banter between the two of them, it's clear that from the start, Willa is one feisty lady. I loved all of the scenes where she and Cade were alone, especially in the hot tub where they start playing truth or dare. The lust between them is intense, but for obvious reasons, Cade is holding himself back. Not only is there a 13-year age difference between our two main characters, but he's also hesitant to open himself to anyone after what happened between him and his ex. From the start, Willa fits right in, and I loved seeing her interact with Luke and watch her fit right in with their small family dynamic.

Not only does she fit into Luke's life, but she's also a natural when it comes to his extended family and friends. I love how we still got many glances at Summer and Rhett's relationship (so much banter between everyone), and am really looking forward to continuing on with the series and falling more in love with this cast.
