Another five star read for me from this author ....
Not going to lie I was a bit hesitant about starting this, it is fantasy and there are not very many fantasy books I absolutely fall in love with, but I'm sure glad I took a chance with this.... it was really just a beautifully written love story with a touch of fantasy, perfect for me...Lark was such a likable character, and so appreciative of her power and her words, you couldn't help but hope for the absolute best for her.... I also liked the powers that all the gifted had, they were all fun and creative and not harmful... and the ending to this book definitely hit me in the heart, it was just so perfect... I understand this is a standalone, but I would really like a follow up, please.....

Amy Harmon has a beautiful way with words, that plus the fact that this is a stand alone fantasy made The Bird and The Sword a refreshingly fantastic read.

More fantasy from Amy Harmon. She's fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the way she sprinkled bits of the real world into the fantasy word of this story. Great characters, despite the somewhat cliche love interest and slightly problematic aspects of the relationships.
