My son insisted I read this after he did (I originally bought if for him last Christmas) and I’m so glad I did. Informative and fascinating. I am in awe of the results of human intelligence, effort and persistence. It is amazing what we can achieve when we focus on the right outcomes.
Also.. space smells of burning.. possibly the smouldering echoes of the Big Bang. Wow. There’s some perspective for you. Wonderful.

Excellent book. The cover is, in my opinion, childish, but if you get past that one, you're in for a treat.
Peake answers all kinds of questions thoughtfully and in length. If the question is a "what", Peake makes sure to answer to the "how" and "why" parts as well. The questions range from lighter topics, like how does one use the toilet in space, to dead serious ones, like what to do in various accident scenarios in space.
You don't learn these things from the news or blog posts.

Ask an Astronaut is quite different than your typical astronaut memoir, but I loved it! The entire book is in Q&A format, but since his answers are generally thorough, paragraph- or page-long responses, it didn't seem choppy. Despite having read 8 other astronaut memoirs, I still learned new things about life as an astronaut from Tim's ESA experience. Highly recommend to any reader!

Solid book to Have Around.
Very interesting and thorough, makes you realise the extent to which space people literally think about EVERYTHING. Lots of nuts, read-aloud-to-the-room-after-reading facts about how fast things move sometimes.
The Q&A format gets a little draining into the second half, with Tim straight up repeating himself multiple times.
What's the most Uhh about this book is just how eerily British Tim Peake is. It's like he's a genetically engineered Upstanding Briton. He has two kids. Loves Coldplay. Loves the Queen. Eats bacon sarnies in space. He's run the London marathon. He's Mr Some Guy. The One Show incarnate. It's actually low key unsettling lmao

Interesting and mostly light-hearted book about Tim Peake's experience as an astronaut.
