A pretty darn good re-cap for anyone who needs the basic plot points and doesn't want to sit through hours of pod racing!

What's worse than a poorly-written and executed movie script? A book that re-hashes some of the movie scenes for children. Clearly, it's the Episodes I-III "stories" that are nauseating, through no fault of whichever Disney employees had the unfortunate task of adapting the material. There was an opportunity here to curb the cheese; instead the original dialogue is treated as gospel. Unfortunate. In terms or production quality, this book is well done. The art work is clean and inviting, even if sometimes cartoonish. It also sanitizes the scenes it does portray, e.g., you don't see the amputation of Dooku's hands. If you want to introduce a child to the Star Wars universe, there are better ways to do it.

It really trivializes a sophisticated story about a trade dispute. Otherwise entertaining for my 3 year old.

Several good stories, but too many from the Episodes 1-3

I love these 5-minute Star Wars books. I honestly think my kids lump all of them together and can't piece the timeline together and these stories are in a format that kid's can understand and stay interested in. The pictures are really good and the the stories have caused more dialogue between us about the films and I think this book and its sequel have cause more interest in the Star Wars universe. I have to recommend these to parents as they will really help your kiddo understand what there is to love about a galaxy far, far away. There really is something for everyone in Star Wars, they just may not know it!

Cute book, short stories that are summaries of the stories we know. I loved the artwork. Makes a great gift for parents who are Star Wars fans.
