I think this holds up really well, and is very readable. I think it is not overly cute, which is what I'm normally attracted to, but that may make it a bit more timeless.

Not very funny. One of the stories is about Frog making fun of Toad in his bathing suit and gathering all the animals around to laugh at him. Idk what the author thought but it's just not nice at all.

“Then Toad began to bang his head against the wall.

‘Why are you banging your head against the wall?’ Asked Frog.

‘I hope that if I bang my head against the wall hard enough it will help me think of a story.’ Said Toad.”

Sometimes on the side I like to write stories and it’s funny given how much has been written about the art of well…writing that despite the millions of pages of prose ABOUT prose, this one page in a children’s book captures entirely how it feels to write. I am 100% the author was going through it.
