What a STELLAR debut from Elle Parker!
I love a good "why choose" and this did NOT disappoint at all.....throw in a secret society and *chefs kiss*! Its a smooth read and I truly loved all the characters! This book is a great start to the series and truly builds the world we're entering and the characters. Quinn's innocence but will to be a badass is something I truly LOVED in this story and Gia....i LOVED Gia, we all deserve a Gia in our life! My only gripe is the cliffhanger ending BUT thats a ME problem lol.
I could honestly tell you with reading this I woud have NEVER known it was a debut novel! Kudos to Elle Parker for an AMAZING story and I can't wait to see where the story takes us next!

I've been slightly scarred by Camelot retellings in the past, so I was a little hesitant to start this one... But honestly, I loved it. It's the a fantastic dark academia romance idea and very well executed too.
I really enjoyed the MMCs. Quinn's relationship with Landon is probably my favorite, but Kingston and Max's are really great too. Max is for sure a wild card and I can't wait to see how his relationship with the other MMCs pans out.
The audio was great. We get a full cast DUET style narration with Alexis Paige, JF Harding, Grayson Owens, and Theo Sinclair and they were all absolutely wonderful. I'm really excited for book two! Thank you so much to Audio Sorceress for this advanced listen!

The King’s Maiden is book one in the Camelot Court Series and is also the debut for author Elle Parker.
Quinn Everly is a struggling college student who is coping with the death of her parents, mounting medical bills, and trying to find a way just to afford to live. She hears of a trial called The Quest that takes place in Camelot Court with the potential to win $25,000, which would be life changing, but what does it take to win and what could that cost her in the end?
The Maiden’s Quest is based on the legend of King Author with a modern day twist and a lot of spice. Quinn is a strong, sassy FMC who struggles with anxiety, asthma, and is healing from trauma. She has no idea what awaits her in Camelot Court, but she is strong enough to be willing to take the chance to save her life.
In Camelot Court are Kingston D’Arthur and his knights, Landon Scott and Max Dread. While the Quest plays out for the Maidens so does a bitter rivalry between the three men that all have a fascination with Quinn. Camelot Court is not what it seems.
I decided to read this book because it sounded like a plot that could keep my interest, and it did! Once I got into the story, it pulled me in, and I didn’t want to put it down. From the legend of King Arthur to a modern day society of powerful men, this book was steeped in steam, intrigue, hidden agendas, and characters that won’t let you go.
If you want an immersing story that pushes you to the edge but doesn’t let you fall over it, this is a book that needs to be in your library.

I enjoyed this book but it was so hard to understand what was going on at times. I had to go back and read the last few pages to make sense of what I was reading. Also, there were a ton of lines that were repeated and that annoyed me a lot.
The author even stated she hated leaving it on a cliffhanger and that she was going to go more in depth on the characters backgrounds in the next book. That's good because I have a TON of questions!!
I will be reading the second book but I do hope the editing is better and that I understand what is happening more.
