As Mitch Albom's books go, this one was far from being my favorite. That isn't to say I hated it, but the pace was very slow and I didn't really get attached to the characters until at least halfway through the book. Once the story started to come together and the characters met each other I enjoyed it much more, but I felt it took too long to get there and for such a short book, it felt quite lengthy. It certainly wasn't the worst thing I've read recently, but if you've read Albom's other books and haven't picked this one up yet, try not to get your expectations too high.

Solid book. Definitely gives “It’s a Wonderful Life” vibes near the end, and overall is a reflective story.

It felt a little drawn out for such a short audio/read.

I thought this book was great, but the frequent switching of perspectives made it hard to keep track of what was going on and I think sometimes it was unnecessary, especially in the beginning when the characters are being introduced. I definitely enjoyed the end of the book more than the beginning, it takes a bit to get going. Overall, the plot was interesting and each character's story was intertwined nicely by the end.

It was an okay book, but I knew how this would turn out. I don't mind predictability, but with these characters it was the same thing I have read before. I didn't like Victor at all not even at the end and Sarah I pitied the girl, thank goodness there wasn't social media back when I was a teen because the internet was still in its infancy. Dor was interesting, but I feel this could have been portrayed better with different characters  besides the greedy rich man, think Scrooge, and the lonely suicidal outsider, think the character In It's A Wonderful Life (not sure if they were a lonely outsider, but they had wondered what life would be like without them). Why not someone suffering with a mental illness or someone abused (any abuse), or a BIPOC person, or someone  struggling with sexual identity?

I liked the short chapters which made it easier to read, but the lack of fleshing out Victor and Sarah as well as their plots left questions. This book could have been longer so that maybe we could see the effects of certain life changing moments in Sarah and Victor's lives.

I felt Dor or Father Time was the only one fleshed out and had enough plot history to care about, other than that I feel this book was rushed and a far cry from The Five People  You Meet in Heaven.
