What fun! YA book that combines adventure, monsters, Greek gods and heroes in modern day America. Perfect for those who enjoy authors such as JK Rowling, Jane Yolen, Andre Norton and Garth Nix.

DEFINITELY BETTER THAN THE MOVIE! The movie had a lot of plot holes and unanswered questions WHICH luckily most of them had been answered in the book in the lines of dialogues or fragments of stories told by the characters, the answer to the rest of those unanswered questions are revealed in the later books and we finally rest, there are more characters in the book and the personalities of the gods and goddesses seem to be closer to how they were depicted and written about in Greek myth itself, another bonus, some things were way off and were way too different between the book and the movie though, like the pearls and medusa’s appearance, and a very vital character (or a few) is absent in the movies perhaps to save time and plot hole formation.
