I love fairytale retellings and this one didn't disappoint. It begins with the death of Jacks's grandfather and Jack going into the study he was forbidden to enter while his grandfather was alive. Jack falls through a magic mirror and finds himself inside another realm and several fairytale characters. As I read I made guesses as to who Aria and Jack were in the fairytale world and was happy to find I was correct! This story takes you on an adventure as Jack and Aria search for shards of glass to put the magic mirror in the fairytale realm back together. Even though Jack feels drawn to this new realm he feels he needs to go back and Aria is desperate to leave the realm to escape the evil queen. They come across some of my favorite fairytale characters along the way, Belle, Robin Hood and dwarfs to name a few. This is a good book and I realized at the end, part of a series!

Hmmmmm. I dont know about this. I didnt hate it but I certainly didnt love it. I think the bones are good but the execution felt incredibly juvenile. The writing is nowhere near what I would expect from two authors, but maybe it was an echo chamber thing. I may read the second one, I hear good things, and admittedly, I'm rather curious about certian plot holes and if they will be resolved.
