This third book in the Swift series took my breath away! It was sweet, and charming with lots of heartfelt emotion. Bristol Swift is strong, independent, and could care less about baseball. When Sawyer "The Cannon" Tom joins the Mavericks, his eye lands on Sawyer. He never thought she wouldn't be interested, and her confidence and wit makes him want her even more. As luck would have it she gives him a chance, and he soon realizes she is out of his league. As they spend time together, learning more about each other, they start to fall for each other. But they both have secrets from their past that cause them to hold back. Will their secrets and fear keep them from opening their hearts to each other? This was such a sweet, tender story that broke my heart at times. I loved the way that Sawyer and Bristol came together and made each other stronger, and more confident. They are so great together, he is so sweet and swoony, and Bristol really challenges him, giving him what he has always wanted.
Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom did a great job bringing these characters and story to life. They delivered all the wit, emotion, and steam and I was totally lost in their performance. I really enjoyed listening to this fun, touching, sweet and steamy romance!

A wonderful ending to the series
Bristol is the last single Swift. She’s an independent, intelligent Pediatrician that doesn’t want anything to do with baseball. Sawyer, my dear sweet broken cowboy...takes one look at Bristol and knows that she is his.
This is a sweet love story, with a little emotion thrown in. No real angst, just some feels along the way. This book was easy to read, and warmed my heart. A perfect quick read on a lazy weekend. The epilogue was the best! I really enjoyed what the author did with that. An enjoyable series.

Book three in the series, but worked as a standalone for me. The Cannon did have some insta-love but it didn’t feel over the top. Loved the focus on family and love throughout. The narrators were great; very easy to understand at various speeds and I felt more pulled in to the story.
Note: I received an advanced listening copy , receipt of which does not impact my review.

This is the 3rd book about The Swift Siblings.
This story centers around Sawyer (a hot baseball player from Texas) and Bristol (a doctor whose family happens to own the team Sawyer plays on).
I love how we get to see all of the previous characters return for this one! Bristol's family is a true southern family and I truly enjoy reading about them.
The chemistry between Sawyer and Bristol is evident from the get-go...it's just a matter of when Sawyer will break through those walls Bristol has built up!
There are parts that fell a little short for me but overall I enjoyed this one.
Congrats on the soon-to-be release Leslie! I can't wait for the next book to see what you have up your sleeve! <3

The Cannon by Leslie Pike is a sweet romance that follows Sawyer Tom and Bristol Swift. This was my favorite of the Swift series ( I know I said that about The Closer BUT this time I mean it!)
CJ Bloom was a fantastic Bristol. She was strong, reliable and so easy to love.
Aaron Shedlock as Sawyer was the perfect swoony southern gentleman.
Overall I really loved this story, the love the Swift clan has for one another, the love they have for Jude, and the all-around wholesome low angst, warm, and fuzzies that Ms. Pike brings to this series. I will definitely be listening again and again.

I usually don’t start with content warnings or include spoilers in my reviews - but I’ll be mentioning these topics.
Content Warning:
Emotional ending to the series. Having lived baseball her entire life Bristol has no intention for falling for a player. Sawyer hasn’t ever had a real family. He immediately falls for her and she realizes he’s not the stereotype she thought.
Lots of fun dates and family functions are the hallmark of this series and I really enjoy that aspect. Relationship-wise Sawyer and Bristol are pretty low angst, however some really tough situations come up for them that make this a particularly emotional listen.
Mallory was adopted by Atticus & embraced as a member of the family - except everyone keeps referring to Brick & January’s son as “the first grandchild” throughout this book. Adopted children are real children and shouldn’t be displaced by birth children. It was disappointing to see this narrative in a book with a grown foster child as it’s central character and with adoption of another grandchild imminent.
I did love the way Pike wrapped it all up for Sawyer, Bristol, & Jude. Plus, there was a series epilogue that was particularly poignant.
Narration:
CJ Bloom & Aaron Shedlock were perfect. I really enjoyed both of their performances and thought they were a great fit for their respective characters.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Home Cooked Books and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

There’s a cancer diagnosis for two different characters, one major. Bristol is infertile and I loved the way Sawyer responded. A heartfelt sports romance.
The characters are so lovable! Both the main characters and secondary..
And that’s what I’ve come to love about this authors books-The focus on family and the warmth that brings to her stories.
The story is full of emotions and everything good I’ve come to love about this series.
Again, I love that family in all its forms is such an important aspect and it brings all the “feels”.
Swoon worthy, heartwarming and amazing!

The Cannon
Swift Series book 3
By Leslie Pike
Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom
I absolutely love this series. The first two books had my heart, but when tears streamed down my face, I know this was my favorite. Sawyer Tom didn't have it easy. A foster care child, he made the best of every family he was with, but now his life is about to turn around. Pitcher for the Mavericks, he has the chance to meet the only sister of the Swift brothers, and to say Bristol has caught his eye is an understatement. Bristol is a strong, independent woman. She has no interest in baseball, but after some nudging gives Sawyer a chance. And our story begins. This love affair is not like others. It holds secrets like some, but the underlying feeling of love is ever present regardless of the circumstances. Their secrets are a definite relationship breaker though, and when revealed, will they be able to survive it? Add in a ten year old boy that will steal your heart and the Swift family from grandparents to new babies and this book had every feeling. My heart was full when I finished. While this book does stand alone, I suggest you listen to them in order. They are all amazing!
Now the narration. It's no secret that Aaron Shedlock is a favorite of mine, but when he gives an emotional performance like this one, I realize just why I love him. He pulls out all the stops with this one and gave me all the feels. CJ Bloom compliments his voice and creates Bristol. She has a powerful voice, and delivers Bristol as the strong woman she is. I love this team and this book. It is one that you do not want to miss.

Make sure you have Kleenex for this one. Bristol Swift despises everything to do with baseball, that is until Sawyer "The Cannon" Tom joins the Mavericks and has his eyes set on her. Through his Texas charm he wins her heart. But will the baggage he brings to the table with his foster care history be too much for him to work through to become part of the Swift clan? Or will Sawyer and Bristol make the perfect pair that can get through anything life throws in their way? Highly emotional...I must have ugly cried twice and yelled at my Kindle once. The two characters have so much love in their hearts but they are both unsure if they can give it away. I felt their connection with every turn of the page. This was the best book in the series.
