I love this series, though I found the time skip a little jarring.
The last arc was just staring to blow my mind and now we're onto a new one, and I think it slowed the pace a bit, but it's setting up for another great arc, so I'm definitely not complaining.
The characters are all still as lovable (and hatable-- I'm looking at you Casey) as ever and I love the fragmented society thing that's going on. Very Walking Dead.

The Woods is one of the most underrated comic series out there at the moment. This arc in particular is a interesting one. It's quieter but a lot more darker and filled of character moments and that continues on with its world building. Also talk about cliff hanger!!

Every time I pick up a volume, I think, “Do I really want to keep up with the series? Is it good enough?” And then I get to the end and there’s a cliffhanger. And I find myself ordering the next one. I can’t seem to give up on it yet. I need to know!

We jump ahead one year from the end of the last book. There's a Walking Dead feel tot he story as the school population begin building a settlement for themselves. Of course, there not out of the...woods yet as a new threat emerges, another, hostile group that has been on the planet for years.

I’m over a number of these characters. I hate Casey. I hate that Calder is so powerless against him. I’m starting to hate Isaac. There’s a new threat though and a year has passed since the last volume. Bay Point has built their own city now and running a democracy. So much has changed over the year!
