Doing a re-read since I started the series in 2021 and it was my first foray into historical romance, and it doesn’t hit as hard after 1. Reading others in the genre that I vibe with more and 2. Seeing the show which is absolutely superior.  Hard to forget about the dub con but also hard to reread. And Simon’s POV makes me actively dislike him.

Spoilerchapter 18…. not the move miss daphne, not the move! otherwise it was a fun story, a good start to the bridgerton books! i loved how much we got to see ABC in this book compared to the rest of the books where we don’t see too much of the other siblings. the 2nd epilogue made me giggle. overall a fun book

I’m gonna ignore the many red flags in this book. They both did some questionable stuff towards the end but I’m telling myself that was a fever dream. Aside from that it’s actually quite an enjoyable book

I can’t even say that I’m disappointed because I wasn’t expecting much. I just didn’t really care about Simon or Daphne. 1 star for Colin because for some reason I liked him the most in this book and the other star for the other siblings (not Daphne).

I wanted to read Romancing Mr. Bridgerton before season 3 of the Netflix show comes out, but my OCD doesn’t allow me to just jump to book 4, so here we are.

I didn’t like Daphne in the show and I still don’t like her in the book. Since I watched the first two seasons before reading the books I can’t not compare them. While I like that their story is simpler I do miss seeing more about the other characters or having little moments where you see how their stories begin.
