This book was quite amusing with all the misunderstandings between Madeleine and Arthur. It is a story about two people who start to fall in love before they have even met each other.
Madeleine is a well known author and her deadline for her next book is approaching fast. Add on top of that that she had to move from her nice condo in New York to move to Kansas to her sister and brother-in-laws house. They moved out because her brother-in-law found a job in Ohio and she decided to stay in their house while it was getting renovated for resale so she could stay close to her mom who was in a nursing home with Alzheimer's.
With all the noise going around in the house she is falling behind schedule with writing her book. Her sweet, old neighbor, Ginny, suggests that she go to her friend Arthur's bed and breakfast inn that wasn't getting used to finish up her book. Ginny talks to Arthur and gets permission and Madeleine couldn't be more grateful.
Arthur Tyler is and English professor. He owns the bed and breakfast inn and also lives there in the basement. His wife had started the inn and kept it running but every since she passed away from cancer three years ago he hadn't taken much care of it. He was okay with Ginny's friend coming to write her book. At least someone could find the inn useful and it didn't matter too much since he would be at work during that time.
The first day that Madeleine showed up to the inn she got a great deal done and was very pleased. She left a note for Arthur letting him know how much she appreciated him letting her use his place while she worked. This started a long chain of notes that they wrote to each other. Though they learned a lot about each other through the notes a few things happened to make them both think that the other was old. Imagine their surprise when they first meet and notice that both a young people. Can their notes actually turn into something real?

A January Bride by Deborah Raney – A little mistaken identity along with leaving notes lead these two into a friendship that has their matchmaking neighbor giddy! That ending caught me right in the feels! Adorable! Happy Reading!
3.5 STARS
(I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review).
Author Madeline Houser has come help her sister and with their mother who is suffering from Alzheimer's. When the electricity conks out Madeline's elderly neighbour suggests her friend's vacant inn as a place to write. Arthur Tyler, an English professor, lost the love of his life and cannot really move on, nor can he sell the inn. The two mistake each other for an elderly person and communicate openly through notes. Can two lonely people help each other find love?
A cute engaging contemporary love story. There is some mention of religion in this novel but it is not overly done. Perfect for a quick fun read.

Seriously thought this one was so boring.
I do not recommend this one at all

This is the second installment in "A Year of Weddings." This series of stories are standalones and are short and sweet.
This little story began with hand written notes and innocent misunderstandings that led to a huge surprise when the hero and heroine met. It is written in alternating point of views and deals with a little bit of heartbreak. Otherwise, it is really fluffy and sweet.
I enjoyed being lost in the book for a little while. Great read.

This sweet romance will tug at your heart strings and make you chuckle. Adorable Alex the spoiled cat stole the scene more than once and the characters experience a humorous misunderstanding. The plot isn't all fun and games though, one character is still grieving the loss of a spouse and another has a parent with Alzheimer's. Excellent feel good story!
Besides March Bride which is a continuation of one of my favorite series, this month was my favorite in the whole set. I loved the characters of Maddie and Arthur and the premise of the book was so much fun! This was a great story and very well written!
Solid 3.5 short story romance.
The buildup of the two main characters meeting was so much fun! What I will say, is that while this is a wholesome romance, it is more on the religious side (with bible verses being quoted). Just be aware in case that's not really your thing.
I'm glad I've picked these up, they're a nice in between book from what I normally read.

Following in the footsteps of [b:A December Bride|18221496|A December Bride (A Year of Weddings, #1)|Denise Hunter|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1374510297s/18221496.jpg|25654276] comes the next book in the Year of Weddings Novella series. This one was much better than the first one! If it is part of a series, the author wrote it so that a reader couldn't tell! I loved the very old fashioned feel of the character's courtship. Ginny was such a sweet mentor to both of the main characters, gently guiding them toward each other. The story didn't really seem rushed and also came across as very realistic. Even the Christian aspects in the story came across as very natural and not forced at all. It wasn't a preachy book, just a genuine relationship with the Divine. I was saddened when I finished the last page, it was that good a story!
